So I spent 3 hours today looking for all my tree work gear which has been dispersed throughout my buildings. Think I finally have everything together and am headed out to do a take down. I don't have the 28' ladder here so I've got a 40' loaded on the trailer. Groundi has her boots on and is ready to go.

Got the tree job knocked out but Groundi and I are whupped. It took two loads to get everything hauled off but the site is all cleaned up and we got paid. We had to rope and pull the tree 4 times as it was a cluster. It all came down as planned. Now I'm sitting and aching all over. I'm getting too old for this stuff.

I traded the horse away today, for a Dexter bull, he is gonna be a tasty critter when he is done growing. Named him Chuck for groundchuck.lol my sons idea. Sold a nuzzleloader, and worked on a husqvarna 350 for a bit(will finish it tomorrow) then headed back to work for another 7pm to 7am. I need more hours in a day

I spent the day pulling the counter unit and the RF board out of a Kenwood TS-830S radio because the TX mixer is toast. Exciting, ain't it?

I'm not sure the dual-gate FETs used in the mixer stage are even still available... but I have a good RF board out of a "parts radio"...
Pretty much the same thing as fixing old chainsaws, eh?

It's a lot easier for us to smoke from The same bag when you are talking trees, saws, & tree business, but by all means, ramble on with that wad or wire.

Sharpened a chain w/ the grinder and took down the rakers, put a few things away in the shop, got a three wheeler running for the first time in several years, posted up that and a couple more saws on CL, took pics of a vibratory plate compactor and posted that up for sale, inflated a few tires, made a pot of soup, burned some wood cookies in the barrel stove in the shop, put away some bars/chains, read newspapers and magazines to catch up happenings while I was out of town,

Plate Compactor?

Pics & Details Please.

It's listed on the Atlanta CL, search compactor or Pike County and you'll find it. It's a Harbor freight brand compactor that I bought a few years ago for a project in Africa but it never got sent. It's NIB. There's pics of the box on CL. I think they were selling for about $700 at the time but I got it on sale or used a coupon or whatever. Just trying to get it gone. They go by vibrator compactor, vibratory plate, plate compactor, etc. This one weighs 175 lbs. It's not the same model number as they currently sell.

Rigging pull lines, I'm standing under high voltage wires. When it absolutely must go in a particular spot, there's no replacement for a 3/4" bull rope and a truck.

Did you use the 40' ladder to secure your pull lines?

I've started using a Big Shot: have you tried one?
