Discovered that I don't like snow. I felt like shoveling a path through the 3 inches, as I don't like tracking snow into the house. That stunk. No matter what I do I can't get it clean down to the asphalt. I hate snow. Glad it will melt tomorrow or Tuesday. Was daydreaming at work Saturday and the thought occurred to me: What if, instead of frozen water vapor, we got iron filings or stone as a precipitation that wouldn't melt. Sent a cold shiver up my spine and gives you guys a glimpse inside my wacky mind.

That didn't take long. You know, the response to my CL ad where the person is going to mail me a cashier's check and....
Nice try. That's why my ads on CL all say "cash in person only"...
My lovely but occasionally very gullible wife cost us about $700 on one of those Craigslist deals.

Could you describe the path the transaction took?
Let's see she was selling a horse. They contacted her with an apparently convincing story. If I remember correctly they sent a couple of money orders (Western Union). One was money for her to keep the other larger sum was to go to a shipping company. (I was unaware of any of this til after the fact.) She deposited both into her bank account and sent the money to the shipper. I don't remember exactly how she sent that money but regardless we had to pay it back.

That sounds about right. What usually takes place is they pay in bogus funds (which is eventually discovered by the bank) and you write good checks for something or other. They are typically never after the "item" I only deal in green stuff on CL transactions. Even if it's a thousand bucks, they still need cash. No cashiers checks, money orders or anything else. Just cash.

Yeah that's exactly what happened to her. I've sold some stuff on CL with cash only face to face transactions.

She is just too trusting sometimes but I'm pretty sure she's gotten over that!

You got a great deal. I only have my house and a couple more rooms for her i don't do much flooring anymore or id get a new saw wonder why those blades are so pricey i ended up buying them off ebay much cheaper.

Pulled out the 550XP and dumped the old fuel out and put in fresh non-oxy fuel with Red Armour at 45-1 and cut some logs just to get the cobwebs out of it.

That is a great saw!
