Fresh wheels. Toe and camber have been waaaay out of spec for a while.
My honda hra215 is about 30+ yrs old.
I had to replace drive tires,, worn right out,, you can just buy the tire,, you soak it in boiling water to soften and install.
still a bear of a job. Mowers smokes on startup these day,, shakes a little as handbrake hit a big rock,, its ready to retire....

Bought this hrr2165 about ten years ago from a small engine repair place. It was probably about 10 years old then. Engine has normal compression and doesn't smoke ever. It looked like it may have taken a hit when I got it. The drive started developing problems and I removed all of it I could. I got new wheels because the fronts were loose on the mounting bolt/axle, making it hard to push.

Fired up the old Troy Bilt Horse tiller and tilled the garden. Tilled it last week as well. This time was fun, the ground was a little muddy, and is clay. Adds a lot of weight to the tine assembly as mud sticks to it. Makes it fun to lift the tines out to turn around for the next pass. Other than a little more effort, it went well. Old Kohler K161 chugged along smoothly.

Just did some service work on the tiller as well. Changed the engine oil, added some gear oil to the PTO attachment, and checked the transmission gear oil level as well. Had to put a little air in the tires too. Greased and oiled things that the manual said to.

Something I read in the manual is to not use multi-viscosity gear oils in the tiller and its PTO attachments. Was about to put 85W-140 in it, but checked the manual to be sure. Said straight 90 or 140 weight gear oil only.

Think I would've found that at an auto parts store or farm store? Nope, drove all over the place and found it in a home improvement store, of all places. Wasn't cheap either, 15 bucks a quart since it was quicksilver gear oil for outboard gear cases. (90 weight) How does an auto parts place not have this oil?

Probably will check a marine store next time, if the home improvement place decides to stop stocking it. A dealer (JD, Case, etc.) would probably cost more. At least I found some, so this is mainly to inform you that this is a possible problem for you to find straight 90 or 140 gear oil as well.

Just finished packing a predator 670 in where a ch620 had been. Fits with exactly 0mm of clearance on the PTO end and both sides (everything is driven off the flywheel) after relocating the oil cooler and voltage regulator and removeing the control panel since it's getting hooked into the mower.

This thing decided to have charging issues, somehow ended up getting on a road that was closed for a 5k, fixed my septic tank and pissed my wife off by using a shovel to check the depth, picked by 362 parts an hour away that now won’t run right after I bought everything to finish it, mowed, hauled two loads of vinyl fence, fixed the charging issue, hauled a load of scrap. Beat on a Sierra pillar and took the door off six times to check it. It’s amazing what too much caffeine and getting up early on a Saturday can do.

I dig a few pipes off the pipe to get started building some irrigator bridges. I need 4x15’ bridges, 2x17’ bridges, 2x12’ bridges and 2x20’ bridges total.

The gas axe came in handy today !!

More cut to size. I have enough cut for the first four and will likely do the other four after planting. Things are about to get hectic around here real soon.

Be a bit wary of friends that stop in when you're working.
Springtime. Many years ago, one neighbor had a few days off, so he decided to have a mixed drink or 2 and then seed & fertilize his yard.

Riding mower and a mixed drink in hand, pulling a drop type spreader.

For some reason, a few of us neighbors thought it would be interesting to walk over and ask him a couple of random but complex questions. .....at slightly different time intervals.
Oh yes, you could see evidence of the meandering walks we took as we talked with him.
Beauty of the drop type spreader is how well it shows your path, later.
Menfolks all thought it was an excellent little caper.
A couple of the wives sorta stink-eyed us for while though. :D

Handy little lawnmower. The next one will absolutely be a 3r though. This one just seems to have more in it but doesn’t quite want to do it.

Set em in place.

Sandwich the pipes between a piece of strap and a pipe for the base. The bases are offset so I can put the longer pipes to the center of the pivot to keep them from rolling over.

Two down, six to go !!
