I was drilling out a waterpump bolt on a Chevy in my 20s and had hair down to my belt , the drill grabbed my hair so quick I thought someone hit me from behind and turned around swinging! Then realized that the drill was hanging off my head!

I only smoked my pants from the 9" grinder / I don't count the landing from an overturned agricultural trailer because it was on your feet and it wasn't very spectacular reloading was more interesting

Today, took a 3 1/2 hour morning walk with the pup.
Then messed around in the shop till lunch.

Yesterday I did some recycling, dismantled 4 collector motors.
A lot of effort for little reward as most of it is steel that has low value.
Still, at least I wasn't glued to a screen all day.

Yeh, those angle grinders will give you a heavy case of 3rd degree rash real quick. My Dad had a wire wheel throw a wire up his nose and into his sinus.

Here you have to keep business paperwork for 7 years
Did a clearing job one winter and would take 950 loader buckets filled with older paperwork and dump it on the burning brush piles.
One guy that worked for me asked if he should be worried about me burning paperwork.

Lathe accidents? Been thirty odd years.
A guy had a conveyor roller shaft set up in a lathe. The shaft was too big to fit inside the headstock hole, so it was chucked and the other end was running in a steady rest.
I think the operator leaned to look at the tool point condition, still on the tool post.
Lathe was still running.
He had a scale and such in his T-shirt pocket. This tended to make the shirt hang out a bit.
We figured the rough burr on the last cut snagged the shirt pocket. (the reason he leaned to look at the tool)
He got danged lucky. It pulled his shoulder against the steady rest and he already had his right hand on the saddle when he leaned in.
It pulled his T-shirt completely off of him. Bit of a bruise on his shoulder from hitting the steady rest and what looked like a couple of rope burns where the shirt was pulled against his skin.

Since we’re talking about work accidents, how many have had welding debris down your ears? I had that once when welding under a mower; it’s quite a feeling having a sizzling spicey meatball burning your ear canal hairs. I’m sure I’m not alone there though. Lathe shirt removal—definitely rare.

We had friends over that just left. Pretty well the one family that we get along with that isn't a hour away. Most kids around here are kinda creepy/disgusting, no work ethic and get spoiled by their parents.
