I caught a painted turtle with my 154 last year, looked like a hockey puck flying through the air. I felt bad but isnt much you can do if you cant see em
I hit that one with an old riding mower with gator blades, it almost choked the mower down.

well I adopted this today. everything checked out, its not beat up or rusted out anywhere. I picked it up for $600, there's no markings on it but I think it's an actual Bush Hog brand judging by the gearbox.
Nice. I've been looking for a good used 6' one. Haven't found anything decent.

Thats a dang! good deal on a brush hog in that shape!
Dont know were U are in the state but around me it be $1500 all rusted in working condition. In your shape like over $2k

Looks low hours or very carefully/well driven by the way the rear swing wheel's bushing is not all hogged out and the sides are not full of rock impact bulges.

:beer-toast1: Well done Sir!

I found a bunch of 5ft & 6ft but all were shear bolt drive, or beat to absolute hell. I specifically wanted a slipper clutch for a little more protection on the tractor driveline.

thanks! people want insane $ for basically scrap equipment around here, this one has the typical pitted top plate since they like to hold water. and someone gave it a rust-oleum makeover which is cool with me. even the tail wheel isn't rotted apart so it must've been kept inside.

I'm in Gettysburg

Fixing a few things on the work beater. The top of the muffler had 2 rust holes and it was beyond loud so here at tight cheeks industries we fix that with a piece of scrap metal roofing, thermal expansion sealant and rivets. Gooder as new👌

Next was fuel leaking from the top of the tank. Turns out the plastic sealing flange on the fuel pump housing deteriorated and broke away so ordered a high perf $90 china pump to try along with new tank straps since the originals disintegrated as soon as i touched them. The top of the tank aint in the greatest shape either but it should be ok. Cleaned off the rust with a brass wire wheel and gonna squirt a little paint on it. Gotta love the rust belt.

I got one wire away from rigging my generator inlet that I never hooked up. Power came out right before I got done. Tomorrow it’s getting mounted outside like it’s supposed to.

Dad had a 1966 Ford Galaxie with a 390. Dang cat crawled up under the hood one night to stay warm. The next morning at startup it got wrapped up in the crank pulley. He had to cut it out with a pocket knife.

I’m cleaning out my garage and found a new steering stabilizer fit my Sierra. My fifteen minute project turned into needed welded on plow mounts cut off and an air chisel to knock it loose. It did get done luckily.
Any time being productive in the garage is time well spent no matter how long it maybe.

so I go to the lady's property to mow yesterday morning & see this... with all the rain we've gotten here in the last week, the lady's son-in-law (36 y/o) thought it'd be a great idea to run his truck all through the field (of course in the known wet spots) & tear it up, add more ruts & basically *s-word on what she pays me to do... so I sent her these pics, didnt even bother unloading the tractor. I turned around & went home.

when I get ahold of the SOB he's losing his kneecap privileges.

Nothing that can't be fixed with pepper spray and a stick.
