Put new ball bearings onto my table saw arbor. Big pain in the ass. Got saw flipped back over and re-bolted to its stand. Re-attached cast iron wings and got them flush all around. Remounted the three fence rails, got them level and with the right offset from the top. Rehung the motor on the belt and put the belt shroud on. Then fought with the switch for about an hour before giving up (and now I remember why it's giving me trouble)...tomorrow's another day to get the switch straight, then set about aligning the arbor to the miter gauge slots.

Bearings are 20 years old, I guess they don't owe me anything. Probably shouldn't have left the saw sitting without running it for two years -- I suspect that's why the bearing(s) went. Hope I don't have to do that job again for at least 2o years.

Also ran the chainsaws just to make sure all is well. They'll get to eat some tomorrow or Monday. 660 needs to crack it open and stretch her legs

Played with a few saws a bit today. Yesterday a 460 would not start for me, so I tried again today and it popped on the 3rd pull!!! It must not have popped and I must have flooded it.

Then I went to tune an Asian saw with OEM 044 P+C, and the recoil handle flopped over, so I pulled it a bit to get it to retract … never do that when the saw is running … it ate the recoil! So I had to clean all the broken parts from the flywheel and recoil, and even remove the spring as it had spun and lost it' mooring to the cover (did not brake, just un bent). So I re-bent the spring to hook back into the cover and wound it back in. Luckily I had just purchased a new set of guts from HL Supply, so I had the parts (only about $5), but now I will need to order more!

Wasted about 1/2 hour of time to get it all back together, but it works!

Then I started doing some additional port work to a BB cylinder for one of my Asian 440s. I improved the upper transfers (moved them a bit closer to the intake) and installed bridge ports (like I previously did on another one that runs stronger than this one did), and I did a little work to the exhaust port (more than what I have previously done). Need to wait to get more pistons, which I have on order.

This porting crap gets addictive, each time you try to build one that runs just a little stronger than the previous one you did. Hopefully it works, because the previous one runs pretty good! But I can't figure why one saw vibrates more than another, when they are both running OEM 460 pistons???

Planned on going to pickup the wood I cut yesterday but a flooded basement this morning told me oh no your not.... Sump pump took a crap sometime early last night I’m guessing. Got to top of basement steps this morning and the first thing I saw was the shimmer of water I the darkness. I guess if it’s gonna be a bad day might as well get it going right off the bat in the morning.....

It was one carb of an NT650 Honda Hawk GT an yes, leathers ripped exposing my skin. :ambulance:

Really cool sump back up plan. I have a well, so I ended up buying a gas powered pump justin case. Thankfully haven't needed it yet.

How long was that bike setting to get that much crusty in it?

And how long ago was that crash?

I have no idea. Had to be a long ass time. Customer brought it in to get it going for his wife. Since then, found out she is prego, so they are putting it back on ice. Track day was 10/1.

After work started working on taking the little pool down for winter. Didnt get far and got a call that my BIL was having some pain issue with his hip and barley move so ran him into emerge to find out what was going on. Thanks god it was nothing with his back. He just had surgury about 4 years ago.
Something with muscle pinching nerve and making leg pain and hip pain. Doesnt look very fun.

Went to split wood for my Daughter. Worked with my SIL on Storm Damaged Hard Maple that is across the street. Noodled rounds, split them, transported them across the street in my trailer, then wheel barrowed and stacked them in the back yard. Hey, I got to play with my saws, it's OK!!!

We got all the wood out of the upper level, but the lower level still has a little bit left (pic #2).

Finally got a Father’s Day gift from 4 years ago running right. Daughter gave me cash which went to a cheap non running Stihl 031... rebuilt carb and would run but not great in till it got hot then wouldn’t crank. Figured with the crappy running I missed something in carb. Three times through the carb it finally hit me that the ignition had gone to crap. Finally got condenser replaced and carb was gunned up again from having set for 2 years since I had messed with it last. Well tonite I finally got everything cleaned up and put back together and it runs like a top! It’s heavy but it runs great now!
3 of my vintage saws running again in the bits of spare time I have this year :-)

@Dub11 it's a 5x14. I really like the size and style, it just needs another axel.

I want to make a 6x14 soon. I find myself needing to move more brush than anything and that takes up room quickly. If you ever find yourself with a tape measure and by that trailer I'd love to know this length please. Screenshot_20181016-234447_Gallery.jpg
