So far I haven't seen anything with stihls that would convince me to switch.

The one cool stihl that dad and I share is the ms150tce....husky has nuthing close.

This 441 that is on my bench now might have a bad ignition coil. The dealer wants $168 for new.....just the coil! That's 20% of a new saw....and there are no am parts available.

For now....I'll stick with my husky 372...

Makes more sense

441 is a poor example of a pro stihl.
There 10 times harder to work on.
Basically you have the worst possible one.

As far as parts go,I've been waiting for a washer and spring from husqvarna for 2 weeks, had to pay 15$ extra for 5$ worth of parts.

It might be different where you are but here if your husky brakes and you don't have the extra parts your screwed. The dealor have no parts and it takes 2 weeks and 15$ shipping to get it.

I live in logging country, everyone makes a living with a saw,I can think of 5 husqvarnas in the timber and I know every logger, don't take long for a man making a living with a saw to realize there is another way.

There good saws and I have one,a like new 395 thar has had lots of parts fall off but I still like it,easier to work on? Not to me and they damn sure ain't easier to port.

I like both of them but and have worked on both for a long time and a husqvarna isn't built as good,a few models run better than the stihls definitely.

The coil in a 395 may as well be held on with a Bobby pin,the 2 tiny bolts that are a foot long can't keep it held fast, plus they put the coil under the muffler,no wonder they go out constantly.

I have no idea what you guys mean about less parts and right places... but whatever.

RI Chevy, do you mean impulse line, or fuel line? .. or both?

RI Chevy, hate to break old news to you but that plastic intake clamp has been the bane of husky's existence for years. The really dumb thing is that the severity of the issue necessitated a recall which husky failed to do. In order to change the clamp you need to pull the jug. There is an updated clamp / mount piece.

here's a fresh vid on the topic

If I take the jug off, do I need any type of head gasket when I button it back up? I really don't have that much experience with Husky saws.

It runs really strong for the limited time that I have used it. But with my smaller saw down, I will use it more. I still have a few more trees to cut. Just waiting for the temps to break a little as well as the humidity. I don't want to drop in the woods. Lol
Plus I have been working long days at my regular gig. Lol

I believe there was a translation option. They likely all come from China, so shipping may be the same.

Richevy. ...yes...a lot of work for one part. But you should take it further.

The bearing cap needs to be resealed as well. Lately I'm using 1184 to seal bearing caps.

That partition needing to be replaced just ends up being an excuse to do a full teardown

You can take it further than that too....get a 346xp jug and a bearing cap and slap it on there and have a sleeper of a saw.

The kit is around 105 shipped from spike60

If I go that route, I'll send it to Jason for a gutjob and kick in the arse.
Wake up the saw a little.

What makes the 346xp jug produce more power than the jug that is on there?

Hey Matt:
Is this the intake boot on my Husky 345? Is it starting to come off or is this the way they seat? I am specifically referring to the bottom of the intake boot.

I've not read through the whole thread, but if you have not done it pop the muffler and check fast if your p&c is okey before you spend any money on it.
I would not spend money on bearing cup, p&c, intake clamp and so on on one 345....if your 345 is toasted and you want to get an 346 I would bought one scored 346/351/353, buy new p&c, and used your 345 as part saw.
