why take a chance on a if that doesnt fix it ? do the test on the saw while your at it

Cause I don't feel like it....

That and I put the 385 together from scratch....the big end bearing is new...so is the seal on the flywheel side.

The saw has very little time on it ...so it's difficult for me to imagine that it's a seal leaking.....that and it tunes perfectly for the first 10 minute of running.

The vent has now been swapped. Next time I run it I'll pay attention to the tune. If it changes...I'll do the pressure test....which I simply hate doing lol.

Seems you had a lot of saws to play with today Matt :)

I somehow have had luck when I build saws, I dont have any preasure&vacum test tools, they all get new bearing&seals, but before or later I guess I will get trouble lol

Yes,you will.
no doubt.
I swap out most of the parts, but it would be safer to do full testing, and it would probleby saved me for uneeded seal&bearing costs.....
One day I'll probleby purchase one mightvac

I use that mitivac for quite a bit....it's more handy than I expected
it's my first priority to purchase, I know it will help me, and make rebuilds more safer.

Matt,

Glad to see you found the problem, and glad you had a nice day with Dad & friend!

I was actually up in the Adirondacks doing some cutting with my next door neighbor today.

Hey, I still can't get my pics to post (File too big). How did you get around it???

Thanks,
MustangMike

I use mine to test carbs as well as crank cases Tor ..Needle pop off pressure .. along with fuel lines and impulse lines. You can tell if there leaking without spotting a rupture . Real useful bit of kit.

I know Simon, I have delayed it so far, but it's the only tool I feel I should purchase, makes things far more easier.

Hey Matt:
Is this the intake boot on my Husky 345? Is it starting to come off or is this the way they seat? I am specifically referring to the bottom of the intake boot.

Ok. Thank you. Should I try and push the bottom further so it is seated a better?
I have been using the saw regularly, and it seems to cut well. When she blows, the saw will be coming your way for a rebuild! LOL. You are the resident 350 specialist. [emoji106]

Just about every husqvarna I have ever worked on that had a running problem had either a hole in the stupid fuel line that pulls through the tank or its kinked between the saw and fuel tank.

I'll likely get flamed, but once you work on a bunch, you realize how ergonomic Stihls are compared to Huskys.

Less parts in the right places, they are just built better.

Most Huskys definitely have the performance advantage by design, but I'd take the slower Stihl any day (and make it a faster Stihl).
