What do you need to know about spray foam? I'm a MN building contractor could possibly answer a question. Slab heat heated by the wood boiler?

No slab heat. I've installed severa of these. And although IMO. Very nice. Not near as efficient. House yes. Shop. No.
On the spray foam. I'm going to do an 1" of the closed cell but do to cost. I want to use something else for the rest of the cavity. 2X6 girts and 2x8 Perlins. I've looked into open cell, blown cellose, and bat. I want the shop very very easy to heat and cool if need be. And not a lot of info out there about combing materials. Lol.

my dad has a insulation sprayer and I know he would recommend open cell over anything else. Blown cellulose is sprayed wet and if it doesn't dry properly it can do damage to any wood it's in contact with . But there's a lot of opinions out there.

celulose is really bad for that. Some old house walls have 2 ft at the top with no insulation.

celulose is really bad for that. Some old house walls have 2 ft at the top with no insulation.

Needs to be dense packed into walls, not every one knows how to do it properly. Loose in the ceiling it just gets better and better as time goes on, this does have to be taken into account when blowing though with a good height blown in. No such thing as too much 18 inches is the norm here for a good job of slowing heat loss.

32x48. Which isn't big enough. But as big as the pocket book could afford at this point and time. Lol.

I have cellulose in my attic. Around 16 in i think. Good stuff for that imo . But we reroofed a pole barn once that had cellulose blown against the metal and every perlin was rotted. .

That would definitely suck.
It can be put in dry as well with a plastic vapor barrier, than the void stuffed tight with cellulose, not every blower machine is even capable of doing this. this usually between studs 16 to 24 inches apart. Pole barns with such a large space between poles the spray foam with a backing of fiberglass is probably the ticket for a warm or cool shop depending on season.

7/16 osb for now. May go cut a bunch of hedge, oak etc and do the inside with that later. But that will take over a year to dry. So it is what it is for now. Lol
