I like that building...I'm used to conventional pole barns...I need a new shop and maybe that's something to consider. Where did you get yours and what is pricing like? You can pm me if you'd like...thanks.
Ok pm me and I'll break it down for you the best I can. With all the research I've done. This was my best option to do it myself.
I don't like pole buildings. Lol.
I would stick build one first. But that's just my opinion. Which counts for nothing.

@Miller Mod Saws would you foam the steel roof and then add underneath? Or foam the ceiling and add on top?
I'll lay down either the 30lb roof felt or try some of that new stuff they have out. Sorry not helpful it has a name. I just can't remember. Lol. And I'll put house wrap on the sides. Then my Tin down and spray foam from the inside.

Up to 500.00 already.

Nope. I ask Randy to build me a saw. Any saw just make it his saw. What he likes and what he likes to build. However he likes to build it. So that's what he did for me. :)

I do hope you get some use from it my friend. Sorry about it taking so long.........but I didn't wanna mess up my "Slow As Hell, But Does Sloppy Work" mantra.

I would put down that titanium felt stuff. Seems like a much better product than 30 lb black paper .

This is how I roll. I have 3 lumberyard within 15 miles of me. One of which the owner is very smart and involved in his business. I'll tell him to sell me what I need. He knows me well enough to know I don't half azz stuff. Hell send me what is best for my application. Lol.

Lazy mans way there.

Maybe I'll build a case for it and display it in the shop with my misspelled signed gtg shirt. :applaudit:

See @Definitive Dave that shirt will be priceless. :beer-toast1:

Definitely do synthetic felt on the roof!
Walls either house wrap or tar paper it's up to you. 1 inch minimum on spray foam to qualify for a vapor barrier. Definitely know who your getting for your foamer lots of fly by night guys out there!
Technically you should have your vapor barrier on the very inside of your walls/ attic. If it were my building here's what I would do if you are set on having foam.
I would fiberglass the walls if you have 6" perlins use r-21 batts and a 4 mil vapor barrier.( No foam on the walls )
Then use the money you saved by not foaming the walls and put 5 inches of foam in the ceiling, closed cell only!
You can't spray it that thick all at once without it shrinking and cracking so you would have to do 2-3 passes. Sorry for the long post pm me and I'll call you if you want

Call sounds awesome. One of my customers has an industrial foam machine. And I can use it all I want. So that said. I'm gonna be that fly by night guy. Bahahaha. How hard can it be. :eusa_dance:

man I'd love to see this take place . Lol. It didn't work out very well for me when I tried to spray. That crap expands way more than you think it would. :)

Not to hard like I said it's better to do several coats if you will. I think you can safely do about 1-2 inch's per pass but to get that thickness you only spray about 1/4 inch thick at most and it expands that much. I'll pm you my number

If you have the use of the machine and he is giving you the foam for close to cost it's a no brainer to foam everything. My buddy has a rig. You won't save much trying to use 2 different insulations with that deal. The biggest problem you would run into is itvcan get messy quick. But if you take your time and do layers like was mentioned, you will heat/cool that shop very easily!

This probably to late to mention this but my uncle built a straw house years ago and its super economical. It consists of a pad with radiant floor heating. Walls are square bails anchored with rebar. There wrapped in a expandable wire mesh covered in stucco. Inside is dry wall. The roof is a steel frame with metal. Screenshot_2017-07-27-00-39-19.pngThe red pin is the house. The new shop is to the left. And below that is were the barn sat before it was wiped clean by a tornado. Yes I said tornado the only damage to the straw house was a broken widow if I remember right.
