Looks like the brown resinoid that came with a new Silvey.

Great!
Seems to cut pretty good, the edge it makes isn’t that sharp, but it removes a ton of crud.
I’m planning on using it to start a conversion then switch to the blue wheel for cleaning it up.

I called maddens today and told them the no. and no one there had heard of the no. m-831.

I’ve got a phone date with the main tech tomorrow. I’m stoked.

Good wheels for the most part. Pretty aggressive but not ok bad to burn a cutter if you’re not trying to take a whole lot. Gray waxed is best for that

Consensus says the salmon wheel is better for converting right?

Gray waxed is the best for not burning teeth. I used them for the whole deal until I got a lot converted. Then next sharpening use salmon or blue. I liked the white as well but it burns a tooth easier than salmon and blue. I bought all the wheels Madsens sold and tried

Back East, nobody even knows what a square ground chain is... Seriously. Not a clue. So it would have to be ordered in vs. home made.

The great thing about the internet is it’s just a click away anymore, two it’s cheaper then round. Maybe I should get a roll of semi skip 63 gauge again and make loops for you guys back east.

I was doing that at one time. Then rolls went past loop price from Frawley’s.

I just looked a couple days ago. Frawleys went kinda high on loops. I remember a couple years ago $10 for 72dl and $14 for 84 on sale.

Just looked up the price there and Left Coast is cheaper by a bit, I’d have to give Madsens a call and see what they’re running a roll at these days. Looks like they do a dollar an inch roughly.

Last flyer was $279 or 289 or Oregon square of any flavor. I was buying Stihl chain and having someone ship it to me and that got too expensive.
