consistent Wood was taking away few days ago, lol.
I'm hoping to build a few chains after the new year, trying to get caught up rite now.
Maybe when you stop by, you can bring one of your saws
Sure thing. A lot of stuff can be done in a short time and see gains.

Then what do I need?

Chain can be optimized for each saw. No matter how fast it is. Learning how to tweak a chain to the saw, and to the wood being cut, and to the operator is an art. Practice practice practice!!!
You spend hours and make a chain that looks fast and it's slow. Spend 5 min on one and it can be fast as hell. Huge learning curve. Start with the saws you have and learn.
This is why racers file their own chain. There is no recipe that just works...

It's fun for sure! Get some cants and start practicing. A good operator trumps saw and chain...

Grey is the softest one ,you can go round to square in 1 pass and not burn the cutters ,still produces a good edge ,but not as crisp as the blue stone does .3 on left are grey ones ,good stones to learn with because very forgiving with the heat .
Where you buy your wheels at?

Lot of truth here. Your experience? I will say a lot of fast race chains that are actually racing out there are ground.

You care to share some tips? On race chains. Not saws or operators, just the chain.

Here's what I deal with often, this isn't square, but you get the point.
I'm not complaining, I really need the work. I'm trying to figure out how guys sharpen a chain in 5 mins. I hear it all the time. But zoom in on the cutters. Look how the angles on right and left are.
Edit:This is what comes in my shop that needs sharpening.

I've gotta build some type of stand for the simington.
Maybe next week I'll get around to it.
Guess I'll use this black one to see how it does, I was hoping someone here has tried it out.

Also. Idk if this is helpful. But the guy a madsens told me on the sdm4 you need not worry about the depth stickers. Just keep your wheel about 3/16" from the back.
