What kinds of steel alloys are typically used for the internal muffler baffles. I may need to replace one on a 2T snowblower.

Thanks. It’s a new 346xp, I’m building them using new 353s and swapping a few bits. Genuine mahle 346 top ends.

Yeah stainless pipe with silver brazing rods. I think the stainless gives a nice finish.

Nice finish on the pipes. What did you cut them with? I cut mine with a chop saw then clean them up on the lathe. Been thinking about a band saw though.
I actually use a lathe, I make OD and ID to my liking from solid stainless rod , then cutoff tool ,👍 then finish ends in lathe, like you said. IMG_3200.jpeg

Nice! I thought they looked lathe finished. It’s something I’ve just started doing and I don’t know why I didn’t do it sooner. Makes a real nice finish.
