I found the paste no good as it burns off easily. However I did just buy this and plan on doing a couple test runs with some scrap plate.3/32 no extra flux. I have been considering trying uncoated rods and flux paste.

One of Duke's deflectors, reworked a bit. 1/2 inch hole through the partition next to the original hole, and 1/2 inch hole out before the partition. Tigged up Tuesday, and painted yesterday, ready to go. As can be seen in the photo, there is a small area that goes straight through..
We'll see how she does...
