I like those deflectors on the 5 series saws Mike. Here’s one on one of my 572’s. View attachment 251983
It’s nice you can just cut the stock deflector off. Hog out the muffler and weld on a bigger deflector right in the original location and still use the screen if needed.

Stihl MS462 with half of a medium stainless steel @Red97 spot welded on and half of a Husqvarna screen with stainless hardware.
Only a slot in the back opened up, so as to be fully diverted for ease on the operator's ears.

That is nice work! Wapping the front half off a 'red' had not occurred to me. Great idea saved in my noggin!

IMHO, there is no wrong way, just a right way, the way each person sees fit for their saw(s)

Best quote I have seen in a long time. Just saws, people need to lighten up sometimes, we dont all have the same opinion, but we should be able to respect each other's opinion atleast, even if we DNT agree with it.
