460 muff mod. First time welding one of these deflectors on. Ugly looking welds, I was worried about blowing through so I kept stopping and restarting. Next time I'll just run a single bead. Looks ok after a grinder and some paint.:rolleyes:

What welder did you use and what settings did you settle on ?
What size solid wire ?
Pure argon shielding gas ?

Thanks that means a lot. It did better than I thought, I just haven't really tried to weld anything that thin with it until now.

I'm running a Hobart 140 handler, .030 solid wire, 75%argon 25% CO2, tapped voltage on #1 wire speed about 28.

Here's my new 562xp.....

Fully gutted the baffles with a 6" burr/die grinder
1" long 1" pipe with 4.5" long 1/2"
