I haven't tried any 3/8 stihl yet, I'm sure I'd like the Stihl more. As for the 1/4 .043, it's nice and smooth, and quick enough with the depth gauges filed a bit, but 3/8 is faster. I'd probably go back to 3/8 only if I use Stihl chain to avoid the jumpiness.

It's a light saw, sure it will be jumpy, maybe square ground :).
Stihl picco is pretty aggressive, filed with a 10 degree angle like Oregon suggests and remove the hook and it will smooth out a little.

Number 1 (V2) was filled with VP and Klotz Benol at 32:1. Grabbed wrong container. Number 2 (V1) was VP and Saber at 40:1.

They run better with 40:1 or leaner, especially if the oil is a high viscosity oil. I use Motul800 at 32:1 in my other saws and the MT can’t flow enough to handle it.

I think that V2 would have run better on the Saber at 40.

They may run better at closer to 50:1, BUT is it affecting longevity? That is the big question...

We use a 362 at work that redfin ported and it's cut more wood this summer than all the saws the polishers have collectively and it's been ran at 50:1...

I wouldn't worry about it I know that much..

It even has a dull chain and a dirty air filter sometimes...

They absolutely run better at leaner ratios.

They even last a long time.
