Lol I like all the saws and brands really, Iove giving people some shizz over their preferences though
That's what I do too, but I prefer the 50-70cc huskys for handling.
Yesterday I did a small tree job and ran the ht101, ms201 rear handle, and the ported 241. Would have ran the 550 but it didn't have a bar/chain on it and I was in a bit of a hurry so the 241 had to do lol.

I'm in the process of doing a 54 cc Poulan to 038 mag hybrid. If everything goes ok it will end up at less than a 12 lb saw with 68 cc. Will not be a true 72 cc due to stroke difference. It will be my new regular camp saw. Weight of a saw is important to me.

Sounds good to me.
Most times I want a lighter saw I grab a ported saw with half a tank of fuel and oil and a lightweight bar, sometimes I'll even put on a worn out chain lol.

Build thread? I have a 2800 that could benefit from a p/c swap.

I have a pile of pics with calapers showing measurements just in getting the cylinder and wrist pin to fit. I'll do a thread once completed. I hope it works out for me. It won't be done till winter. Too busy w other stuff.

I would think it should make a snappy sporty runner with the short stroke as long as the port timing plays along well. What kind of obsticals did you run into getting it to fit?
Nice room for moving the screw holes on the 38 cylinder. Once moved no room for screw heads. Had to use 10mm ID x 12mm OD x 10 mm bushings on the poulan wrist pin to fin on the 38 piston. There is still a pile of work. Need to trim the skirt so thrte us 20 thou clearance to the case. I don't have fancy tools so doing all by hand. Grind measure grind measure.... Have to do some work on the tank through hole for a larger boot plus... I'll get back to it some day.

I threw on a beat up 84dl bar on the 395 with a 8 pin and semi chisel. Cut down a dead ash and did some testing since I modified the carb just recently. 12.7k no load and 11.3k under load. A touch fat, but it’s a working tune.
