Yeah I have always done that.
I am right handed but start left handed.
Its not a high compression saw but if you dont commit 100% it bites you

I drop start my 180psi 111cc 076 left handed.
That's about my limit though, the 090 gets sat on the ground but I will build the strength

Here it is tuned a bit higher at 14300 RPM
I wouldn't run it at this all day.

These video's were with a Stihl HD2 filter fitted.
Planning a better breathing filter

What's the point of switching hands every time you start the saw?

Only reason I would start the saw with my left hand is if I had a beer in my right hand

I don't know I guess I just pick up the saw with my right hand and grab the recoil with the left? Is there a right and a wrong way?

I'm right the opposite: I'm left handed, but start them right handed.....
