Right near URI. I am going to have to cut my cuts. Make cookies. 10 large trees all cut down and to length. Either cookies or noodle the wood. Lol
We'll hook up another time. Plus its football day!
It's about the same as going to Dan's. If you find more trees to hit let me know and I'll bring some saws! My brother is shrink wrapping boats so we aren't doing tree work right now.

Will do Eric.

One can only improve by getting feedback from other more skilled professionals. I would love to hear information from you and your wisdom.

As an owner of a Dr Al ported 026, no way a stock 026, 036, 390 should be close to it. But, ported saws can be trickier to tune, and there are so many variables with the chain & wood, some angles just seem better suited to some wood than others, and cutting style can influence things. That said, the stock saw looked surprisingly good. Some of them come out better than others.

I prefer to use my 026 for limbing, and it is a lightning limber!

Heck that is just the beginning !!!!
the artistry of the work of matching the perfect chain begins
Yeah... so much to learn there... I'd love to take the class, where do I sign? But I must admit, couple guys have really shed some light on that subject and opened at least one of my eye's, lol.

OK. So I ran stock 026 versus Ported MOFO Worksaw 026 today using 18" bar .325, .063 full chisel chain with 7 pin, then switched to 16" bar .325 .050 full chisel chain with 7 pin, then I used the 16" bar setup with 8 pin rim.

I tried to be as uniform as I could. I made 5 cuts with each setup. The first 4 were regular cuts, and the 5th one I really leaned on the saw. Same fuel in both saws. I sharpened each setup prior to use. I made the cuts with each setup in the same 16" log that I cut yesterday. I use a new log with each bar change.

Funny thing, homeowner asked me if everything was OK, because he kept seeing me changing over saw setups. Lol
And he looked at me funny when I was cutting cookies from the wood I just cut yesterday. I took the evidence with me.

I brought a 20" bar, 3/8" chain, but forgot my 3/8 7 pin rim at home. So no video. Lol

Thanks for taking all that time To do this Jeff.

My latest 026's are done Jason's way on the transfers and make better torque. I used to not recommend an 8 pin, but it looks like it's better than a 7 with a 16".

I think it's the same size cover as an 044 or 066, other than the outer spike mounting holes

Is the PNW cover the same as the West Coast cover?
