If I was going to replace my 346, I'd probably pick the 501p. Echo is a solid machine

They are pretty solid but I’m pretty sure I can make a 550 or 346 with more power.

I absolutely believe that, but initial cost of purchase makes that echo a tasty bite.

The 4910/501p may not be quite as strong as the others, but it is lighter…kinda makes up for it.

I have 16”3/8 on my Dyno Joe 4910. It has the testicles to pull it in oak.Not that a 346 wouldn’t, they will... Just seems the Echo’s have some inherent torque.

That was a 20” on the 501P. Probably only 14-16” in the cut. It will pull it fine but not quite as well as a ported 550. Those thing just don’t care.

I have a 4910 that was also ported by Joe. In hardwoods like oak I find it stacks up better to a 346/550 running square ground .325 with an 8 pin. I know the .325 isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I don’t mind it. I run 3/8’s on my 346’s and and my 550.

I agree. I was running my 346 at Kevin’s breaking down the top of his tree and then ran a 4910 he ported…airweight.

Thanks, I bought a couple of them cylinders and I'm going to see if I can get it to work on a Craftsman 2.8, smaller case and 1/2lb lighter.

Here's a couple vids of my new (first tank of fuel) MMWS 395XP and a well broken in Tree Monkey 661CM. Both have 36" bars with Oregon EXJ (round file, full chisel, full-skip) with rakers at .035.
