That is a 32" bar semi skip square ground chain with an 8 tooth sprocket. It is as much bar as I would run with it. There is more torque to be had with that saw but I built as a "highwinder". I like it a lot with a 25" or 28" barBar length?
8 Pin?
Saw seems to be on the limit
How’d you make it a high winder? Just curiousThat is a 32" bar semi skip square ground chain with an 8 tooth sprocket. It is as much bar as I would run with it. There is more torque to be had with that saw but I built as a "highwinder". I like it a lot with a 25" or 28" bar
What is this mythical 282 you speak of?Nice. Looks kinda like a Hooskie 282/288.
Pulled pretty good.

Wouldn't that make it an 8800?I might actually make a "282" out of this with a 288 top end. The Efco cylinder is very similar in dimensions to a 288.
The good thing about that is the carb mounts are also very similar so I could retain the Efco intake components/choke/throttle, etc.

Is the 661 spring interchangeable down to a 261? Also curious if the rear 462 spring would fit a 261...asking for a friend.I found out the spring he’s using in that 49$ kit is the one off a 661. So I bought one for 16$ and it works great.
No idea but if it did that would be cool.Is the 661 spring interchangeable down to a 261? Also curious if the rear 462 spring would fit a 261...asking for a friend.
Sounded like it.I'm not exactly sure what they were set at but they are low
You ever try a slab sided 266/8 pop up in a 372.
