Are you guys putting the 661 bottom spring on them to stiffen up the floppy av? It made difference on the one I have here.

I think most are buying the suspension kit from West coast saws.
I just run it personally she is pretty floppy tho

I found out the spring he’s using in that 49$ kit is the one off a 661. So I bought one for 16$ and it works great.

The 462 is stiffer than the 500i. It comes with the 661 spring from the factory already, that’s why wcs doesn’t include it in the 462 “suspension kit”.

There’s more to that kit than the spring though. There are case side to tank limiters, a custom made buffer, and the spring

Yeah I think he has some heavier duty bushings as well

Yes but that stuff really isn’t necessary in my opinion. In fact I don’t want to limit the travel since there isn’t a lot. The av is soft enough when it’s stock that your constantly bumping the limiter which translates more vibration into the handle on upcuts and bore cuts. Just the 661 spring upgrade alone seems to stiffen it up enough to keep it off the limiters (unless your really hogging on it). It’s a cheap/quick fix for people who want to stiffen up there 500i using OEM factory parts.

Probably just get the kit if you want the buffers

There’s OEM “hard” springs for those saws too depending on which route you want to go. But check the part numbers on yours to see if it already has them. 1138-790-8310

Thanks, I knew about them but those danm foam mounts are notoriously bad.
