Stopwatch said the flattop piston was slightly faster. But what did the powerband and feel of the saw tell you? Did one feel different than the other? Cool test Mike.... popup vs flattop. Here’s that same 2171w but this time with the pop up piston and a different ported jug.
I have one of those on a Lewis winch. Always starts and runs
Super XL Automatic I just saved. I have a few things against me on those cuts:
No dogs/spikes
Log isn't secure
Oregon Vanguard safety chain

Thanks man but I scored one on eBay for $10Those spikes seem to disappear from every saw XL-12 I find. I've gotten a few through barter.
There's a fellow on another site that is talking about making a bunch of them ,if he does I'll let you know.
He's already made 50 short clutch cover spikes for a 10 series Mac.
Thanks, it runs better than I expected.Nice job Ronie. Runs strong for a homeowner saw...[emoji106]
Nicely done Rich. There's no shame in going back in and you proved it. Perfect working powerband, can put it on the dogs and make it do what it was meant to do.My First 462. Ran it earlier today and it wasn't quite there. Headed back to the shop and went back in. I can't say enough about the simplicity of this design. Only takes a few minutes to have the jug in your hand. Picked up 3 seconds raising the transfers and exhaust roof a touch more.
