3/8" Low Profile and .325 standard kerf Husqvarna gauges. The correct file is a snug fit in the holes in the gauge. I'm never certain that I'm using the 3/8" LP raker gauge corectly. The .325 narrow kerf gauge won't fit over a standard .325" chain.File Guides.jpg

I believe the jig lays on the bar at a 25-30° angle and your file rides across the top of the rollers

I'm still using the fist roller guide I got back around 1983. I think at that time they were sold by Pferd and later came under the Electrolux/Husqvarna banner. My original has hardened steel rollers. It's a little hard on files in truth, but you learn not to bear down on the roller too much.

Can you take a picture of it. Would be nice to see a original.

Maybe a wrap or 2 of electrical tape, as a consumable item, to pad the rollers?

I'll try to remember to do so. The old ones look just like the new ones minus the rubber rollers and depth gauge doohicky. Just black, hardened steel rollers on a blue frame. Might have been Sandvik that had them back then and no Pferd. Have to take a peek.

Used almost every sharpening for 30 years, heating exclusively with wood.
Worn out many a chain and file

3/8 about 1 year old. Used maybe 10 times shows much more wear

Welcome to OPEforum.

From 1989
Very cool - I did not know the history of these, or how long they have been around.

What are the rollers made from, or covered with, on the Pioneer/Partner model? Did they maybe go with a softer roller cover to extend the lives of the files?

As the rollers wear, I use a thicker file and then the chain stays sharp longer
