It might be entertaining to research annealing those cutters
Try clamping the tip of the bar. Powerhead on one end and stump vice on the other seems to make the middle of the bar more solidI like stump vises too, assuming you have appropriate stumps or downed wood but that's not the case here and now
@Wilhelm gave me some good natured crap about this pic years ago on AS after my son gifted the vise to me
Wilhelm probably doesn't remember it
He gave me crap on my MS-210 as well...
LOL

LolThanks, that was just a pic I took proudly showing off the new vise my son bought me years ago
It's in a rough tote in storage in Alaska
That's why I am reinventing the wheel
Damn I whine and cry a lot
Pretty high maintenance I am

I try to keep a diamond round and flat file handy too to knock off the patch of chrome they tend to get on an occasional tooth or DG. I find that once I break through the chrome with a diamond file, they are no longer hard to file, though Archer chain seems on the hard side like Stihl. No, I am still fighting those same 2 loops of Archer from the spring of 2020
5-6 super hard cutters between the 2 loops and a file won't touch them so when I hit one out comes the diamond file
It has come down to them or me, last man standing, and I won't give up...
Actually, all I am doing right now is trying to keep myself entertained and this is helping

I did not take Your post personal nor offensive!I need to publicly apologize to @Wilhelm for a couple of posts yesterday on this thread
I made references to some good natured ribbing I had received on a couple of threads years ago on AS
I was able to go back and see that @Wilhelm had actually commented in one of the threads but he was NOT the one giving me *s-word about a saw
It was all supposed to be in good fun, my posts yesterday included, but I didn't have my facts straight and essentially "accused" @Wilhelm of something he didn't do or say
I need to keep my mouth shut unless I check my facts first
@Wilhelm, I am sorry for what I said
Regards
We are good!I’m not wilhelm but I think you’re good.

We are good, if we ever meet maybe we can laugh over this sipping a beer or whatever else.
The two of us actually already cleared this mistaken identity in our PM convo.
We are good!

Both, keeps things much cleaner and much more easier to clean up , but we also utilize the wood chips for animal bedding (rabbits and chicken) as well as flower bedding (a thing my mom does).Wow, nice!!!
Is the tarp just to keep your yard from being 10" deep in sawdust or do you save the chips and stuff for something?
To be fair, the file guide is designed for Husqvarna chains (which in the past, were made by Oregon). The roller guide supports the file from below, rather than from the top, like conventional file guides. So it is very possible that you will get a different result with other brands of chains, which may have different cutter profiles. This husky roller gadget sucks, more likely I do.
Roller is packaged as 3/8, and is blue.
Chain is Stihl brand 3/8 full chisel.
The file is .213,
when engaged, with arrow pointing toward bar nose .102+ - of the file is above the cutter.
The same file without the roller, sitting in a cutter has .040+ - above cutter.
Have I been filing too deep all my life or is there something wrong here?
Old dog, new trick lol.
