I wont bad talk it, nor will I recommend it.
Only thing I see that it "guides", or tries to, is zero tilt.

I'll try again on husky and Oregon chains for on a different bar.
Back to free hand.

I have one that the rollers are worn on. That and a 13/64” file makes for some hook if desired.

Some chains does not fit all the way down on and must be tapped or filed.
What I assume that @davidwyby is saying is that some people file the slots in the roller guide a bit wider so that it seats properly on some STIHL chains.

This has been discussed in some other threads.

Husqvarna has released a new roller guide for their new C85 X-Cut chain.
Silver with blue rollers versus all blue
Husq part number 586938601

Recommended C85 Angles are different (30, 0, 60) versus 25, 10, 55 for H48 and Oregon LG/EXL

For me the Husqvarna roller guide is miss and go.
I utilize various chain models/types and this roller riding the chains tie straps doesn't work well or at all on some chains.

The Husqvarna roller guide is a must have for semi and full skip chain though.
