Got the Tech sights and put 'em on the Rossi, they fit perfectly. Took it out to 25 yards and now it seems to be as accurate as any of my others. Much easier to see than the stoplight glow original sights. Like my other .22 rifles, the Rossi likes Remingtons. Don't know what to make of that, but its better than liking only Lapua Midas I suppose! I'll post a pic tomorrow.

Ruger might put one on it for free if you ask them. They've been known to be quite generous. When the Wrangler first came out everybody was asking if a magnum cylinder would work on it so I thought that was the case here.

I bought a wrangler a few months ago. Best thing I ever did was put some 17lb hammer
and 40oz trigger springs in it from a six. Totally a different gun in a good way.

Thanks, for a cheap gun it sure is nice. If it had the basic metal plain rear leaf and blade sights most .22's come with then they would have been good enough for the expected use of this rifle. The Tech sights are a real bargain.

Everybody knows Rugers are junk so if i were you i would get rid of that thing. I would be happy to help out and take it off your hands as a favor.
Thanks Larry, I completely appreciate your concern, my Pops gave this to me many moons ago and my Boy will end up with it. But I will let him know...:)

That's awesome John! Is yours the old or new six? I see a few 22 mag cylinders on ebay but they are spendy.

This will hafta do for now.:)View attachment 306899

Is that a lightweight? Collectors will pay big bucks for them. I read somewhere that a few lightweights with aluminum cylinders as well as frames escaped the factory back in the day and of course Ruger was none too happy about it.

I got a Glock 44 .22 LR when they first came out. Seems like some had slide problems but mine has been solid so far. Its now at the point where everything is nicely broken in and feels like my well worn 19 and 26.

I'm still shooting the little Rossi, have a couple hundred rounds through it. At 40 yards off shooting sticks it will shoot sub-1" groups, at least for 3-4 shots. The guy pulling the trigger is definitely the limiting factor here. I have three Pro-Mag mags for it (16.00 shipped on Fleabay) and they fit and feed just as good as the factory mag.

My favorite pistol is my PPK in .22 but the problem is the sights are tiny and hard to see. I painted the front sight bright orange with nail polish and it helped, but still hard to see. With no aftermarket options available I decided to try to tear up my sights! Ordered some 1mm fiber optic tube on eBay and got a micro drill and bits from harbor freight. I think I did ok. Glued the tubes in with super glue. We'll see how well they hold up here tomorrow.
