Makes one wonder with the .50 destructive device when there are .54 caliber and larger muzzle loaders not to mention the 12 gauge is .70 caliber. My 50 caliber knight inline muzzleloader launches the most lead at a time. 270, 308 are my highest power rifles. Actually my 12gages launch a mean slug too. If what I have won't kill it, nothing else I could buy would either. We are limited to .5" as anything above that is a destructive device, according to our federal overlords. Lol
I've shot HSM +p and Buffalo Bore +p in my JSM 1895. My old torn up shoulder can't take it so I stick with the milder loads.Do you handload 45-70 rounds? Supposedly you can load them past 4,000 lb-ft muzzle energy, but factory loads are light so they don't blow up old guns.

Pawn shop score, Remington 700 BDL in 7mm Remington Magnum with a Leupold Vari-X III 3.5-10X50. Pretty much paid what the glass was worth and got the rifle for free.
If I am on my game it will just about put four through the same hole at 100 yards.
Few years back, I had necked up a 9.3x62 Mauser to accept .410 350 grain Swift A-frames. The wildcat was housed in a browning 95. Original 30-06 barrel bored out to .410 bore and chopped to 20.
Affixing a custom scout rail with 8-30 screws, topped it off with a 2.75 fixed scout. With 200 yard zero, she hit 11 inches low at 300.
This was no fkn 45-70. These loads were around 55,000 psi with the 350 grainers clocking 2300 fps.
It worked, very well. Like anchored, in one shot:
Muzzleloaders are exempt as far as I understand. Also black powder firearms aren't even classified as firearms. Can order a black powder pistol through the mail. Always wanted one of the 20mm anti tank rifles, I believe you could order them in the 60's for like $100. Lahti and Solothurn were the ones I think.Makes one wonder with the .50 destructive device when there are .54 caliber and larger muzzle loaders not to mention the 12 gauge is .70 caliber.
Thanks but no trophy. It's just food. Its whatever comes into the call. There are a bunch of antlers like that atop my connex, mostly just to keep the sled dogs from chewing on them. I have never had done any taxidermy. Can't afford that sht, and it's not really my thing even if I could afford it.That is a great Moose!! It is rare to find one that is so symettrical & with great paddles & palms. The ones with greater spreads have the paddles angled out as they go upward & usually do not have their total antler material nearly as well distributed. Congrats on a real trophy!!
We can still shoot lead at targets and bad guys, I think.I have a REM model 7 in 300WSM that’s a handful to shoot but great mountain rifle to pack around. I bought a Weatherby vanguard in .338WM but have not shot it yet, thinking about putting a brake on it. Have a bunch of .388 bullets to load up but now we have to shoot copper.
Win the lottery, one of the first things I'd do is buy some time shooting that 25mm chain gun on the Bradley.Muzzleloaders are exempt as far as I understand. There is a company that makes a saddle ring to take the place of that cross bolt safetyBiggest I own is a marlin 444SS, I don’t like the crossbolt safety but other than that it’s a good rifle.
I looked for 8 years before I found one locally.
I shot a model 29 in 44 magnum and I found it easier on me then a Winchester 1892 in the same.
Which is why I mentioned the OP mentioned them being classified as destructive devices wherever they are from, I know a guy that ordered 54 cal Great plains also a 50cal NEF handi rifle through the mail as well as a pair of 5 1/2" Ruger Old Army cap and ball revolvers.Muzzleloaders are exempt as far as I understand. A company also made just a pin/bolt that fit flush with the outside of the receiver, there was also a set screw on the oem that made the cross bolt nonmovable if that is the cause of the dislike. There is a company that makes a saddle ring to take the place of that cross bolt safety
