Biggest thing I've learned with that style oil line is to cut it exactly to the spec measurement. Otherwise the brass barb end tends to work itself loose in the case then you have an oil leak worse than normal.

I drill out the hole it passes thru a little........that way I can slide it back and forth. I leave it long and mark it to length. Press the brass end in it then push it home as I install the pump.

Looking great Randy, what did you use to clean the rust off the crankshaft with? Can't hardly tell it was ever rusty. Lol

What causes that? Bad build or factory defect? Is there any option for repair or is it as Dall says grab a new jug and start again?

What caused it in this situation? The guy that built this saw is a *dipstick.
