One thing to consider.....

Failures have happened on 066s with 288 pistons. One of the reasons might be because of AM wrist pin bearings........but it is important to note that the pin boss is wider in the 288 piston, and that allows the rod to shift from side to side. If a 288 piston is to be used on a 066 rod, then shims should be made to take up this width.

I think I made shims for one saw only, I don't worry about the anymore. the only one I had fail was AM.


So should i get the 288 piston outta my 660 ?

no, you would need a spacer or a new jug, if you think it has a AM bearing just replace it with oem

You should fabricate a scoop to go over top of the exhaust port so It funnels it right out of the muffler
