Man these are sweet saws.first Dolmar for me.only thing I don't like is the Chinese Oregon bar.I'm sure it's a good bar but why do that to a high scale saw?

It's not like you can't afford a better bar and still have money in your pocket over any other other comparable pro-grade 40cc saw.

Steve had the right idea with the black bar, a Cannon supermini would look great on it.
I have plenty of bars in ko95 though, so no excuse to buy another...

You mean to say that you actually like the "fat ass" 50 cc offering ? :D

How are things progressing with your build?

It's back apart for the next round of mods.
Had a hard time tuning it, didn't seem very stable in the upper rpm's but dealing with the rev limiter who knows somtimes.

Was pretty disappointed with the filtration, a lot of fines in and around the intake after only 6-8 cuts. Wood was a little dusty but still. Guess it needs a bit of grease around the filter spigot.

Got timing numbers, don't have them in front of me but IIRC;
ex 115
bd 22
in 73
Keep in mind that this is minus the 1mm gasket.
So time to alter the cylinder.
If nothing else this saw could probably benefit from a trim on the intake side piston skirt.

Not quite sure how I'm going to mod the muffler, may do a clutch side outlet. I removed the cat but other than holding heat I don't see where it's a detriment, it really flows pretty well. The big restriction is the outlet tube, just blow a hole behind the deflector and you effectively bypass that.

Here's what I came up with for a muffler mod, a second port on the outer cover with a matching hole into the muffler itself.
Can put in a screen sandwiched between the two layers or adjust the size of the outlet the same way with a piece of sheetmetal

Easy way to uncrimp these mufflers is to make a tool something like one of these, then there's no torch needed and takes only a few minutes.

One is a pair of of oblique flush cutters someone mucked up cutting hard wire, was glad to have finally found a use for them.
Just flattened one edge and mildly reshaped the other.
One advantage over the needle nose is that they're relatively wide.

The other is just a pair of bagged out needle nose that I shortened to the widest point, then just used an 1/8th" carbide burr to make the divots. The offset step facilitates the prying action a bit.

Both work fine in slightly different ways...
