I'm very excited to see how this is gonna turn out! Can I assume that you are gonna show us stock hp ratings vs ported?View attachment 44447 That's better...
Having bad luck with bevels lately.
Exhaust roof bevel looks backwards, might as well not have even bothered doing it. I guess the ports small enough not to matter much...
Could you do a side view of the piston ? ... i have a cylinder and piston from a genuine dol 5105 for a direct comparison
So did it come with a black or red top cover? That's better...

So I was thinking that most of the Dolmar's came with pretty high compression already... Where was the 5105 at before squish cut. Seems like 0.060-0.065 is pretty loose and would have lower compression to begin with. Seems like the 6100 comes stock at 185 psi+, 6400/6401 about the same...Too late for that, modded it a bit before I ran it.
Dyno project is being held up by logistics for a while...
cant remember on the 5105's but by my gauge every 6100 i have checked was 195+ straight out of the box and had one that was 215So I was thinking that most of the Dolmar's came with pretty high compression already... Yea that's why i'm asking what compression was before the squish cut. If it was already 180+ and you cut the squish... Is it going to be 200-220???cant remember on the 5105's but by my gauge every 6100 i have checked was 195+ straight out of the box and had one that was 215
You port yours shep? One of my 5100's was 210 w/gasket.
Shep
To be able to sell it at $330. bucksMan these are sweet saws.first Dolmar for me.only thing I don't like is the Chinese Oregon bar.I'm sure it's a good bar but why do that to a high scale saw?
