So the real question is if these are black top or red top 5105's? I already have one and a spare parts saw and still tempted at another!!! I have tons of 520/540's though... resisting the temptation for now.
Well... they show having the newest cat muffler and no casting disk in the fins that could have been used as the tapping for the de comp on the early 50 group saws plus the easy start case is a good sign . Im leaning towards the 5105 without a clue how there so dam !!! cheep . Close to £580 .00 if you get a pucker Dol 5105 in the UK.

I'd rather pay Nate (@fordf150 )$380 for a new 5105 thats lighter and more power than the 510... If that's the route I wanted to take. Besides Nate needs to clear inventory and is a great guy to deal with. I'd spend an extra $30-$40 just knowing he's great to work with if any issues arise.

Thank you

the 32's and 510's arent that great of deal considering i sell the 32's for $179.95 and 510's for $360 and have some NOS 510's for $275 but those 421's are a screaming deal especially considering first of the year they will be bumping up in price by $30-50 and they are on back order till who knows when.

Man, between changing the name and raising the price, Makita is really changing things up. Honestly, around here, people have heard of Dolmar saws. They aren't common, but you see them, and people associate them with chainsaws. Makita, though they just think of power tools. It'd be like seeing a dewalt chainsaw (I know, they do exist). People would probably give it some respect, but not think of it as a competitor to Stihl and Husqvarna.

I love my Dolmar 421. Part of the reason I got it is because it was about $240 cheaper than a Stihl 241 at the time I got it. If Makita raises prices and the difference becomes smaller, the decision would get a little tougher. Anyway, just my ramblings for the evening. Maybe if they raise the price, people will take them as more serious competitors, and they'll actually sell more saws.

I'd love one of these Marayumas, but I've already acquired three saws this year, and I bought a nice used deck over equipment trailer today, so I should probably give the bank account a rest.

Came with an 18" prolite and 20bpx 72.
A lot of squish clearance, didn't touch 062 solder. Base gasket is 1mm...
