I've been using echo branded chainsaw files german stamped really like them don't know the maker though.

That could have been extremely ugly!
Lost my footing bucking hornbeam on a steep slope in the forest.
I've imediately let go off the trigger, the damage was caused by the mere momentum of a 72DL Stihl Rapid Duro3 decelerating from WOT.
I really have to invest in some chaps, all it takes is one portion of a second to f-up ones life.
First time ever that I got cought by a spinning chain.
This is nothing to brag about - I know that!!!
Hopefully it helps others in deciding to invest into PPE.
