lol yeah, ask the lads who buy 262 92-94, you never know what you get before you study what cylinder&carburator it has!
Iv got a 262xp that was bought brand new around then..only saw iv ever owned from the start ! You have got me thinking…must look it over to see what i have.

Looks like iv fallen for the assumption that if you find something on some Husqvarna's, then they all are like it :D

That seldom is the case with any brand. The models change with time (product development), and sometimes with part logistics etc. as well....

Iv got a 262xp that was bought brand new around then..only saw iv ever owned from the start ! You have got me thinking…must look it over to see what i have.

me think you have KS jug and HdA 87 carb.......
Flywheel side, cylinder base, you should see something like this, example:
01 91.
If so, it's one KS cylinder.

This is new to me that there could be the "holly grail "of 262 xp s.
All folks with them iv come across think there a strong saw.
you bought it new, xpg, 90% chance you also have everything inside that every 262 fans dribbling after.........
Check carb, and check what I posted å bit earlier

Its only needed to be maintained as its had a moderate amount of use …its the one in the pic on this thread with the 254. All parts are what came with the saw. I will have a good dig about tomorrow and take some pics. Is it the KS jug and HDA 87 combo that make it sought after ?

Yes, thats the combo most wants to have.
You can be able to verify if it's KS, flywheel side, foot of the cylinder, there is two rings with two numbers in each spot.
