You guys are forgetting something, a 462 is 13 + 1/4 lbs, about the same as your 562, and most 372s don't beat my 044, unless they have been ported.

We will compare your 7900 to some of my Hybrids, or my MOFO 460. That would be fairer … with 28" bar in hardwood, not a short bar in square wood.

I'm a hoosky guy ya kno.
Last yr I ported a pr of 440s for a fella.
Wanted to kno if they ran as good as my hotrodded huskys.
I fired 1 up and proceeded to noodle a 3.5ft oak log. I put all my weight on it!
It just kept eatn.. unreal..just unreal...

I have a ported 2063, it ain't running from no 462, at less then half the cost of a stock 462, and yes I am including the port work in that number, if you want to compare ported then I am at about 1/3 the cost, I can't help Stihl keeps adding more and more plastic to your saws, we will see if there are around being built 20+ yrs from now like the 372.

I'll bet she'll still be going more than 25 years from now, just like my 044!

The 462 didn't cost me much, I just sold the 440 and a couple of 460s that I got for next to nothing and brought back to life, so, if you look at it that way I got a state of the art saw for very, very cheap … with funds left over!

I did have some reservations about selling that 440, was a nice low hour / good running saw. But it went to a good home, and I'm more than pleased to have the 462 to replace it. I paid $25 for the burned up 440 (was run lean) and $50 for an OEM piston, and that was all I had into it. It even came with brand new plug and filters! I think someone had just paid to have it tuned, and the guy that tuned it set the Hi too lean and burned it up (Hi was 1/4 turn out). She cleaned up well.

Macs are very uncommon. That's why that pic was taken when I was back stateside ;) When I do see macs for sale here that are in good condition, the prices are a bit high. There was a super 60 for sale recently for €400. It was in great shape, though. We're a small island with high taxes, so new saws are very expensive.

That's in very hard Eucalyptus. I would still have it here if the vibration levels weren't just completely stupid :(
