Here is the deal....I have had a personal hand in a few messed up port jobs no....it costs me money and time i dont have to spare. These guys are spending hard earned money for a service. When that service comes up short and it ends up in my lap or is one of my friends, i try to help them make it right. Until now i kept my mouth shut and left it up to the owner of the saw to post up the info. I am doing things a little different this time around, I am NOT going to post the builder/owners info or give it out in a PM but i figured a good debate on just what constitutes a ported saw could be had from this along with what warranty a builder should give. This is the third saw in just the last couple months that i have given my time or discounted parts to get them the saw they deserved in the first place.
I've come across that too. I don't sell parts, but I've given free labor to help somebody out in the same situation. Unfortunately, this guy is probably not the only one in this situation from the same "builder". It's also easy to see how this happens. The "builder" probably is a little over confident, may have honestly tried to fix the problem with the saw, but either hopes the saw will run ok, or just doesn't have the technical expertise to fix it. Sometimes our ego is our own worst enemy. Glad the saw owner has a third party like you to help him out.
