It's both good and bad with the complexity as you stated. The fact is the internal combustion engine is at the end of it's lifespan in automobiles. The issue was always batteries, as electric is superior in nearly every way. I know most don't want to hear that, but it's just fact. It's taken only a decade for electric to surpass what took internal combustion well over 100 years.Yeah small multi turbo engines with a gazillion speed transmission and tons of electronics is great when it's great. Wait till it has issues. When it's at the dealer for a month or 3. I'll take the older stuff I can repair myself and sacrifice some power and fuel mileage. Diesel trucks are a sh!t show. I know more people with new $70k trucks that can't keep them out of the shop and they need them for work. It all stems from emissions, epa, politics, etc. I'll stop now before I get too deep lol.
