Here is a great set up from Harbor freight for $50. All you may need to do is take the foot pedal apart to fine tune it because some of them are a little jumpy out of the box. The foredom hand pieces and foot pedals are interchangeable with it. I have hundreds of hours on mine and all I've had to do to it is the mentioned initial tuning of the foot pedal and replace a set of brushes in the motor which were included extra in the box.

Does HF have hand pieces that go with this?

Just the one that comes with it. I do believe the foredom hand pieces fit.
Nice its not like I'll be going after a RA soon but to have something that feels sturdier than a dremel would be nice

I've got one of those...actually where Matt is haeded might be just as effective. Problem is the RPM's where it has enough power on my cheaper "air" power tool is way high. Instantly gums up the tooling. Yet even though you can lower the RPM's..there is no torque when the RPM's are "Fordom" level so effectively useless. Need a lower RPM capability ...and power at those lower RPM's like the Fordom's everyone serious has and uses.....but those little micro tools like Matt is working with MIGHT, a qualified might; give the flexibility to run the lower RPM's and yes while the tooling might be small. As Matt has pointed out it may not be fast, but with some development might be able to remove material in a way to accomplish goals...I don't know just yet. But there is potential there.

Thank's that's what i was worried about spinning too fast gumming up the burrs and the stones.

the key is that stupid right angle... there really isn't an affordable solution ...friction grip right angle. there IS an affordable LATCH system, which I have demonstrated...but you have to modify the burr shanks.

i'm working this week, but following week i'm off, so i'll be doing the buildup of the huztl 372xp ...with port work... with the latch setup ...theoretically.

Iam looking to get that system you posted soon. I think it would be a good fit for me plus its not like I have more than 1 or 2 saw worth porting

No matter what kind or type you buy get the absolute best you can afford and learn how to use it to the best of your abilities and you will have it made.
Poor people have poor ways of know I've been that way my entire life but there's a difference between poor and cheap.

You don't need the best to start learning but you don't need junk either,it's taken 20 years to accumulate the things tools I have but I'm still learning how to use them the best that I can and that's more important than how much it costs or what name is on it.
