??? ahhh, you got the right Old Guy? I don't got car gas.
I meant that I'd be stopping in Becker for a car fill-up since there seems to be some competitive pricing going on since the new station opened last fall.

Not getting gas at your place. HAHAHA

4x1,000gal and around $1.35/gal for farm gas. They try to keep them between 40-60% when it's this cold so they can gas off properly. A few years ago they had to come pump fuel out when a grower lost power and couldn't run the generator and the heaters at the same time because it was -30f and the tanks were too full for it to gas off fast enough.

Years ago there was a guy northwest of of me about 15 miles that ran all LP tractors except a 1468 IH with the V-8 diesel. and a "Big A terra-gator" with a old Ford gas engine. He had a helluva line of LP tractors in high horsepower (well for that day) The crown jewels were the (3) yes 3 Minneapolis -Moline A4T-1600 4 wheel drives on LP. I will never forget that auction as they sold his stuff. All the Minnie-Mo's sold between $5000-$5500. I do not remember how many big IH LP tractors he had but it was a bunch. As folks know engines burn a lot of gallons of LP. They guy had a 18,000 gallon tank. They sold it on the auction also.

Aye!, -27 here this morn also. 60 years ago I would spend all day on snowshoes trapping beaver in this kind of weather. (northern Wisconsin)
The Beaver do not get a good pelt until it is good and cold. That is one of the reasons they are not worth anything in my area.

I’ve got a neighbor with an LP 2455 and LP 2655. I haven’t even seen another Oliver 4WD much less an LP version. Couldn’t have made many. He’s got a bunch of other LP tractors as well. They’re neat and smell funny 😂

If you listen to the AI bot it will say there was only one 2455 built. I will not enter that argument as it would be futile.

During the 1980's farm crisis in my area there were literally 3-5 farm auctions every Saturday during the winter within 5-35 miles of us. There was a very large equipment scalper by the name of Jerry Harmel of Bennet Iowa that had folks going to every auction and buying semi loads of equipment at dirt cheap prices. He was not well liked but that was the economy. He would then have several large auctions each year and sell it off. Of course he had a staff of "plug bidders" protecting everything of value. They would sell equipment all day and then in the evening run the tractors through a sale ring in a large shed like a car auction. In January 1987 Dad and I went there looking for a tractor. This was Oliver country and Dad wanted a really sweet 1855 there. Of course I cannot prove it but I believe it was the same 1855 we watched sell the year before on an foreclosure auction around 30 miles north of there. Up there it went for a measly $2850. Well on the Harmel auction Dad ran it to a bit over $5000 but it was obvious they were plugging it. I can still see dad shaking his head and mouthing FU. On the same sale they had a 2655 Oliver. I did not see it sell but I believe it stayed local because one showed up around 15 miles south of there at a Oliver collectors place.

It was sad to think about how many cheap tractors I watched sell in the 1980's
