Mystery Powerhead

[IH1972]

This powerhead was part of a Granberg milling setup that a buddy's father bought about 30 years ago. I can't find any identification on it. It's pretty large, about the size of a Husqvarna 372 or 395. It turns over freely and has compression.
I don't think he ever used it before he died and he's been dead for quite some time.
Any ideas as to what it is?

They make a lot of low-end power but like most Italian saws, they don't rev high. @Mastermind built a couple of these for a member.

Parts are almost non-existent. You have buy another powerhead to get parts.

It's an interesting piece of equipment. It's noteworthy how the cylinder is on its side instead of being vertical as on most saws. It's about the same size as my 395, but has a much larger displacement.
It's been used, but I don't think it's been used much.
If I attempt to get it going, what gas/oil mix should I use? I typically run 32:1 in my saws.

My alpina's call for 32/1 from the factory.

Here's a little update. I pulled the top cover and discovered that the fuel inlet elbow on the carburetor is cracked. Any ideas about how to fix this easily?

Also, I tried to test fit the double-ended milling bar to the head, but the bar studs are 10mm and the slot in the bar is only 9.3mm, so it's a no-go.
The bar will go over the studs in my 395, but the tensioner hole is not located where it would work with the bar, so I'm not sure what this bar goes to.

I've had good luck finding a brass elbow from another carb to press into the Tillotson.

The elbow swivels. Can you tell me how the elbow is held in the carb body? I assume that there is some sort of boss that is pressed into the car body and the elbow fits over the tubing.

There is a stainless steel piece under the elbow that is pressed into the carb body.

I'd get a file or angle grinder and make .7mm disappear in a hurry.

I was able to remove the plastic elbow and just barely get the new fuel line to slip over and stay on the the nipple that is sticking out of the carburetor.
The saw fired off for a few seconds after squirting a little gas down the intake, but it won't stay running. I suspect it needs carb work and whatever pulls the fuel from the tank to the carb might be malfunctioning. The line from the carb to the pickup is clear and I have gas flowing freely from the tank to the carb fuel line when the nose of the saw is inverted and the line is off of the carb. There's a bubble showing in the line in the photo because I had just disconnected the line to make sure it had fuel in it. I know nothing about these carburetors.
I pulled the plug and checked for spark earlier and the plug looks pretty good.
Also, this saw has a ton of compression. It's really difficult to pull over without using the compression release.

Take the carburetor apart, clean every part quite thoroughly, and replace the gaskets and diaphragms. Most likely the diaphragms are stiff and preventing it from moving fuel as it should.

It appears to be a Tillotson carburetor, but you need to find some additional numbers on it somewhere. I would guess it is an HS based on the displacement of the saw.

You can also see the little fuel boss sticking out that I'll have to replace with one that has an elbow. .
