Idk about the big boys part..I see some guys on here turn into a 12 year old girl pretty quick sometimes..

I don't know about cranking down the air filter tight as can be part..that doesn't really mean jack sh!t to me...as long as it filters air well who cares.
Ok

It kills me seeing stihl slowly do away with the screw-on filter cover. One of the reasons I switched to Stihl.
Take a look at the 461, it has a screw on filter cover. But the air filtration sucks balls. Fines get past the filter, and the filter gets packed with chit. You’d rather see this setup on the new 462?

But you can crank it down as hard as you can.

Not at all. The 661 has a radial seal like the 462, 362, 261,241, fits snug.

What I'm saying I like the filter cover like the 661, 461, 460 044, 440 etc. Easy to get off.

Reason why the older Stihl filters leak is because the outer radial seal is very stiff and doesn't seal properly against the black plate and uses the screw nut to press it against the black plate.

Maybe just use a thick piece of rubber for a washer between outer cover and filter? Cause filter to seal tighter.

No worries Ryan. We're all big boys here. But he is right. These twist on filters suck as far as tightness goes. Should be able to get much more torque when twisting it on. Shouldn't have to rely on the soft squishy rubber to seal it up.
I can see the filter rubber being packed out somehow as it flattens out over time. Or replaced more offen unfortunately as Stihl would like.
