Most underrated saw you own

Mac 10-10. Bought it cheap not running. A little sea foam in there for a week or so and its run perfectly ever since. Considering the era it came from they are pretty impressive 50cc saws.

The Mac 10-10 cannot be considerated as under rated.

It and the Homelite XL-12 are the standards by which all other saws are measured.

To say a saw is as good as a 10-10 or XL-12 is to say it is a good saw indeed. [emoji108]

82cc of reed valve snort. 2 1/4 # lighter than the vaunted Homie XL-925.

And they can be found cheap.

Unless of course they are painted green & yellow.

I gots a 266 wiff a bigbore kit that I ported. Out runs my 272 n brother in-laws 372. I ported them also...
LOUD N VIBRATES ALOT! Fickle in warm weather, but I cut mostly in da winter..

Believe it or not I owned a Stihl 025 with a 18" bar & square chisel chain that was a small beast!
Kept the chain sharp, fresh filters, and ethanol free fuel and it was extremely reliable and cut some amazingly big wood.

Not really underestimated but really never considered....The 36cc non strato Poulan. Cost $5 each - need fuel rehab and open muffler slots. They will do a lot of limbing w/ 14" bar.

Another couple saws come to mind for me are the 024, and 034, very popular around here, my dad still has a 024 he uses, just seems the 026 and 036 overshadow them, but they are great saws in their own right.

I own would be my 115i Dolmar. Slim, compact, bulletproof, and lots of grunt. One anti-vibe mount and air filter in 24 years of sawing. Will have to test your thought on the 034. Getting my free 034AV in the next few days. Will be my first tear down and rebuild. Never have had to work on a saw before other than cleaning/maintenance.

You guys might laugh but....Jonsered 455... Love that saw

No laughing here man, thought I'd be the only one lifting up the 455 as a good saw. The one we have was my FIL's saw, he's gone a few years now but that dopey little saw just keeps on tickin'. Small and lightweight, it's a good saw to run now and again.

The 490 is a good little saw too, mine runs pretty smooth and the anti-vibe is good.

I've got the taste for 10-10 and XL-12 also, but not the time. One day I'll be able to just have fun running the old junk we have...

One saw I'm really looking forward to running is my J-621 a friend has been moving around his shop for a few years. Sentimental for older stuff I guess, but that's a saw I'm looking forward to getting my hands on.

I had one that was a pooch and sold it. Then ran another one at a gtg and was blown away by the performance for a stock saw. Goes to show you can never base your opinion on just one particular saw.

I consider efco's to be undervalued. Good power to weight. Simple, easy to work on.

Dolmars seem to be going cheap right now. Dealers have them priced dirt cheap for an excellent Germain designed and built saw.

BTW...my MOST reliable/underrated saw was my 034.
Cut through hedge, black locust, and shag-bark like it was so much confetti...hate that I ever sold it!

There is so much ignorance toward that saw , I just can not understand nor agree.

I love mine, built 2001., in usage since 2006., she is a true workhorse and built to last.

6400 is an excellent saw! I've run one a fair bit, no complaints
