When I see "underrated " I think models that didn't sell well or were discounted by people who never ran them based on word of mouth .
Like an MS441 , its probably one of the smoothest cutting saws I've ever used and has a wide power band. At 70cc when ported will cut right along with 90cc saws.
Along those lines I'd say the Poulan Pro 475 would probably fall into that category also ,being that it sold poorly for the time based on the fact it was made with a plastic tank.
462s,372s,and similar saws are and have been rated extremely high so I don't really think they fall into the underrated category? Probably the opposite.

I have to agree with Maintenance Chief on the Stihl 441C. I rebuilt mine when the original owner said, "You fix it and it's yours." Yes, it took me close to 15 hours to rebuild the engine, but after running it five or six times with a 25" bar, I have to admit that it was well worth the effort.

Ms250.... I bought one just cause, and the dumb little thing just works no matter what!
This saw seems to get quite a bit of dislike on the interweb, but idk, mine starts easy and runs perfect every time.

I don't own it anymore, but my MS 362-C got no respect, and it was a good saw. The newer Ver IIs are even lighter and better.

I think that that older 362s with the previous filter system just gave them a bad name that would not go away.

Just like the Ford Pinto ... the problems were fixed on the 79+80 models, but the name was tarnished, and it was doomed.

FYI, the rack and pinion (non-power) steering in the 80 Pinto was so good they used it in the Delorian's!
