The on/off toggle switch is one of the things I love about Echo. I would have been very disappointed if they changed it. There's no reason to...it's simple, reliable, and just plain works. However, I am a bit surprised they used a rather vintage on/off toggle switch on the 7310, easy to shut off by accident. I guess some traditions are hard to break away from.
Echo's have been in the family since 1979 and we've never had a problem accidentally hitting the off switch. Nor have I heard of this being a problem for others. It seems to be more of a hypothetical problem vs. real world problem...IMO.
