@huskyboy made the overrated saw of 2020 thread time for me to do the underrated saw of 2020 thread. Think of any saw you’ve ran in the past year

Likely the Echo 7310, it may not do everything as well the other two brands, but it does some things really well with a simplistic approach. Not to mention the low cost.
This could easily turn into another purse swinging thread with talk like that...lol.

I will still say the 038 mag II is the most underrated saw of all time

My hands hurt thinking about one, but they were a durable, powerful saw. I got into forestry when they were still in almost every the rotation of every crew while they were being replaced by 044/046/MS 440 & 460s.

Edit to address OP: I’m going with the 395XP as the most underrated saw on the market for quite a few years now. They have some things that people gripe about(front tensioner, outboard clutch), but they are tough as nails and walk away from a 660 or 661 when a long (36” or greater) bar is put on or the wood is really hard. Some say they’re a relic of a bygone era, but for some jobs they are the saw.

The 372xp xt coming back for an an encore appearance in 2020 has to make it the most underrated saw of the year.
Still good enough for who it cuts for. :)
My cousin has a 372xp and I really like that saw. I've heard said that Echo might have been targeting the 372 fans when they designed the 7310p. They seem to have similarities except the 7310 may be a little heavier. What's your thoughts on that?

They're definitely stepping up their game and trying to get a slice of the Pro pie. How big a slice remains to be seen.

Next to no love for her out there but damn does she cut well, starts easy, runs reliably, has great fuel economy.

I have a 3/8" 68DL full chisel 18" B&C on mine, she pulls it smooth and relentlessly.
