The bore side of the lower transfer tunnel is dropped down below the cylinder base. While the outside wall is a stright shot, with a sharp turn into the cylinder bore.

Here is a more extreme exaple. Echo 590.
Ok I'm with ya. These are actually above the base a good amount. However it's not such a concern on these compared to let's say the 500p because there's a very deep trans tunnel pocket built into the cases. Hoping ya could see it in this pic but ya cant! 20160408_184723.jpg

I've had the blow down on these as low as 18° and as long as 24°. 20-22° seems to be there happy spot. Have had the exhaust from 107-103. On this I'm still testing. As the 104 saw is still very very torquey but I don't want to raise it just yet till I get some solid 3/8 bar testing in. It does pull a 3/8 bar better at 104 than at 107. So we will see. Intakes is were I'm really playing right now. As you see my trams and exhaust are close but my intakes are 4° difference. Stull sorting threw finding what I like but as I said I've had these apart a lot trying to find what makes them tic!

All right I tweaked on the 76 intake saw. At 8° on ignition I seen no improvement and started to get a little kick back on the start. Backed it back off to 6° and locked her down. My 80 intake saw is still the stronger one. Here's a vid of them running. 1st saw up is the 76. Second saw is the 80!

How similar is this saw to a 510 ? I'm not real familiar with dolmars, don't see many of them around here. But I know where there is a 510 that could be bought prett cheap.

The 510 I believe has an aluminum case instead of mg so it weighs more. The cylinder/piston is different and makes less power. How much difference, I do not know since I've never run the two side by side.

Peeling all the catalyst material out is a job and that doesn't lighten it up much. Its worth it, though.

The dealer had a 510 in stock when I bought my 5105. There's a slight difference in weight, not much, but it's there. I took the muffler off mostly to see what the cat looked like and weighed it. The complete muffler was 7 ounces.

I think the 510 cylinder is open port and 5105-5100s are quad closed port

So not even close, sorry for the derail, carry on gentleman.
