Carl @Miller Mod Saws you could always send me stuff to review. :b1: I would do lots of videos of them.:aaaaa:and then everyone would want your saws. 421 cough cough 421 cough
I could! But I'd hate to get you addicted to ported saws. You would never go back! :)
Then you'd blame me for your habit. Lmao!

Well I thought that is why you where a porter first and a dealer second. Get em hooked and keep em coming back to the dealer for their fix. You produce the product and then supply the goods.

Just joshing! :)

Being a firewood hack, I will say this, and this is JMO.
I ran the ms361 for years, thinking it was "the greatest" firewood saw there was, for my needs.
The very first cut I made with the 6100, I was a grinning.
I personally like the way this saw feels, balanced with the 20 inch bar, saw feels more like an extension of your arms!
I know the 361 is quite comparable weight/power wise, I just feel the Dolmar is far superior in it's "feel" and "handling."
Maybe there is something to that sawtroll mumbling about balance....:eusa_whistle:
With the extra kick Carl gives this saw, well it's just unbelievable!

I know what you mean by balanced. I had a 6100,a 2260 and an Efco 158 side by side. The 6100 felt best to me. Sugihara lightweight bar only made it better. In hardwood seemed like the perfect 20" bar saw. More I ran it the better it ran. Then some corksucker stole it.

There was some grumbling about them being a 361 clone. I don't think so. I think Dolmar took a 262 XP and said how can we make better version( oh the blasphemy!). That vid shows where a 6100 shines. Using all the bar in hardwood. When it comes to falling a tree that size or bigger the Dolmar wins going away. At least mine does over my two fresh 262 XP's.

Ya it seems to grab a lower gear the more you try and bog it. You pull it down below 9500 rpm and you would think it would fall on it's face but oh no it just starts throwing bigger chunks. Great firewood saw. It really likes a steady diet of oak and hickory. Gotta keep that Coffee roasting!

I would love to try that. I want to try learning how to square file but I just have not had time.

While near every modern pro saw has steered away from reed induction in favour of piston port, the 6100 is a shining example that reeds work well and have their place in small engines. I love the low down torque that reed induction promotes.
