I believe it is slated to replace the 362. The new 261s (V-II) are 50 cc and a good deal lighter than this saw.

261s usually have a 16 or 18" bar, and the 400 a 20". Both good saws IMO, but different duties.

Yes, and thankfully we have Meteor pistons for most of the Stihl saws, often less than 1/2 the price of OEM.

Bubba and I used a Wiseco crankshaft in his KX250. The Chinese made piece of crap lasted a few months.

No Steve.....they're all the same. They hire the cheapest labor to build the *s-wordtest crap, to sell for as much as the market will bear.

Randy, would this be a good replacement for the 362 or 261? Seems like a in between saw depending on bar length used.

For the 362.....yes. For the 261....no.

Too heavy to really take the place of a 50cc saw.

I find it odd that you had trouble with a Wiseco product. Use them often in motocross/cross country bikes, atvs etc and had good luck. Did you give them a jingle to see if they would help?

Randy it sucks to hear about the crank. I didn’t even know they sold cranks, I have had good luck with their pistons over the years in snowmobiles. Perhaps they have farmed their stuff out to China now too.

No, just probably 30 pistons or so. That's a damn shame it's made in China. Lost some respect for wiseco today.

I had a couple of aftermarket choices for a crank. Picked Wiseco because I assumed the name reflected quality.

Bummer. Getting the factory crank rebuilt.

Okay then, but we don't need a crankshaft made, we need a made in the USA piston.

Needless to say I'm pretty much against all these aftermarket companies at this point.

Profit is the only thing that matters to any of them.

It's not just the aftermarket Randy.
I can show you box after box of GM parts made in China, Thailand, Mexico, etc.
